The
Pennsylvania Association of Meat Processors keeps members informed of
developments of interest to the meat and poultry industry - legislation,
new ideas, research &
education in general.
Newsletters ... The bimonthly PAMP NEWS keeps members
informed about important state and national news in the meat and poultry
industry, trends and association activities directly affecting their
businesses. Plant members have the opportunity to place free classified
ads in the newsletter and suppliers can advertise their products to the
members.
Membership Directory - A complete listing of all members and
suppliers is published each year.
Networking ... Members communicate with each other for problem
solving and mutual aid.
Annual PAMP Convention
... The convention is held at Penn
State during the month of April/May and is the highlight of the year. This event
features educational sessions which address crucial issues and new
techniques in the meat industry. An Exhibition features equipment and
supplies from leading suppliers of the meat and poultry industry. Fun and
fellowship are part of it!
Processed Product Competition ... This contest is held in
conjunction with the annual convention to give plant members the
opportunity to have their smoked, cured and innovative products judged and
rated. Winners take advantage of their awards by gaining media publicity
and by displaying their awards.
Continuing Education ... In cooperation with Penn State
University’s Animal Science Department and Food Science Department,
educational seminars are made available to PAMP members during the year.
Representation ... PAMP representatives meet regularly with USDA,
the PA Dept. of Agriculture
and provide updates to keep members abreast of the rules & regulations.
Prestige ... Being a member of an industry trade association
builds customer confidence and shows that you are an up-to-date,
progressive firm. PAMP is associated with the American Association of Meat
Processors, the national meat trade organization representing small firms.
